Content Development Unit

The Content Development Unit (CDU) of AeU was established in February 2008. Its main responsibility is to develop e-content for the academic programmes and executive courses offered by the various Schools through the ODL approach. CDU is led by a General Manager and empowered by a dedicated team of e-learning experts comprising of Instructional Designers, Graphic Designers, Animators, Multimedia Developers, Audio Specialists and Video Specialists. In line with the vision to be one of the leading e-content developers in Asia, CDU ensures that the e-content produced is of international standard by utilizing appropriate instructional strategies and current multimedia technology.

CDU also plays a vital role in delivering the right support for self-managed learning. Through continuous research, CDU finds innovative ways of delivering effective self-instructional materials. In addition, CDU provides consultancy and professional services to assist various organizations and Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) to develop their e-content.

Message from the General Manager

Students who opt for self-managed learning to pursue their tertiary education learn independently with minimal intervention from lecturers. They rely heavily on learning materials that facilitate self-managed learning.

However, most textbooks are not suited for self-managed learning as the content is usually not written for ODL purposes. Realizing this, CDU is intended as a hub for ODL content development and delivery. CDU is empowered by a dedicated team of e-learning experts.
