PhD (ICT)

The Doctor of Philosophy in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) (by research) is specially designed for those who want to design and build hardware and software systems for a wide range of purposes; process, structure, and manage various kinds of information; conduct scientific studies using computers; create computer systems to behave intelligently; create and use communications and entertainment media; source and gather information relevant to any particular purpose. The Graduates of PhD (ICT) programme shall be able to demonstrate critical understanding of the most advanced knowledge in ICT, which is at the frontier of a field of study or professional practice. Graduates with the PhD (ICT) of AeU will be poised for upper-level position whether in organisations, consulting or academia. They are expected to contribute towards improvement in the organisations, place of employment or the nation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Malaysian & International Students:

  • Possess a recognised Master's degree in the relevant field
  • Other qualifications recognised by the AeU Senate

  • A Statement of research intent, describing what you have already done and what you hope to accomplish in your doctoral research. This is your preliminary research intent or research proposal. You may be required to attend an interview in some cases.

English Language Competency Requirements (for International Students):

  • For international students studying on campus in Malaysia, they must attain English Language competency equivalent to IELTS (6.0) / TOEFL (550) / CAE / CPE / PTE / MUET that complies with the programme standards set by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA). Those who have their tertiary education in English shall normally be exempted from the requirement.
