"My name is Yusof Bin Ahmad and I am currently a Master level student in the program of Information Communication Technology in online distance learning. At present, I am residing in Saudi Arabia since the year 2007 and attached to an industrial college. I have been a student of AEU since September 2009 semester and now I am in my second semester. In my past experiences in the field of online education through distance learning, I have worked with several types of LMS, namely, Moodle and Blackboard. As for AEU, the LMS system is more or less the same and this tool is very effective in assisting all adult learners the concept of distance learning wherever the system is easily available and accessed.

The AEU LMS system comprises of various menus which assist all users in interacting effectively without any prior knowledge such as MySubject, Update profile, eLibrary, Academic Services, Finance Services, Campus Directory, Examination, Email and also Change Password. All of this easily access menu provides better understanding of what are available to the users to process any kind of request needed. As for the subject registered for the current semester, I would suggest that the Academic Facilitator (AF) and the liaison for School of Information and Communication Technology (SOICT) regularly update the LMS on the menus in the registered subject of the student such as Announcement, Description, Learning Materials, Discussion, Quiz, Assignment, Classmate, Chat and other Subject as all of these menus should not be left idle and not utilized when they are already available for the students and also AF to access. Instead of having other kind of portal or group websites (e.g. Google group discussion) which is outside the system for discussion on related subjects, it is much better and effective to utilize what are available in the existing AEU LMS portal.

As of now, I would say that the AEU LMS system suit the requirement and purpose of having online distance learning for adult learners without limitation in geographical boundaries. There is always room for improvement for the system as AEU is growing towards providing adaptability, applied, cognitive and people skills for all learners. Appreciations are in order for all AEU staffs in their great effort of implementing the AEU LMS system."
