Indonesian Muslim University (UMI) is the oldest private university in Eastern Indonesia. This university was founded on 23 June 1954 the charter was signed by KH stance Muhammad Ramly, La Ode Munarta, Andi Maddaremmeng and Chalid Husain.

Not surprisingly, UMI to date remains the pride of Muslims in Eastern Indonesia. Also the only private university in eastern Indonesia that has been accredited by the government INSTITUTIONAL ID: 036/BAN-PT/Ak-I/Ins/III/2008, and UMI is the only private university in Eastern Indonesia that was entrusted by the government to maintain Doctor of Education (S-3).
UMI, built by the Foundation Endowments UMI with particular characteristics as educational institutions and missionary on his duties and responsibilities of a wider and more serious than just produce scholars, because the process of education in UMI provides appropriate knowledge and skills digeluti disciplines, and give a plus to his players, through the expansion of the faith, Islamic ethics and enlightenment Spirituality, as the foundation of the future shoot.
